Architecture and interiors

Finished buildings and interiors, photographed for architects, interior designers and builders. We agree on the shot list, the angles and how the images will be used before the shoot, so the photos show the design the way it was intended.

What we photograph, and where it is used

What we photograph

  • Exteriors at the right time of day for the building
  • Interiors composed with straight verticals
  • Details, materials and finishes
  • Twilight exteriors

Where it’s used

  • Firm portfolios and websites

Composed for the design

Architectural photos need straight verticals, careful light and time. We balance the light from the windows with the light inside, so a room reads true from the view to the finishes, and we give details and materials their own frames.

Exteriors are scheduled for the light that suits the building: morning, late afternoon or twilight. That can mean two visits, one for the interiors and one for the exterior at the right hour.

What we plan for

  1. A shot list agreed first

You tell us the views and details that matter. We go through the project with you, on site or from plans and photos, and confirm the list and the order before the shoot day.

  2. Styling and timing

Rooms are styled with your team before we start, and each space is photographed when its light is best, so the schedule follows the building rather than the clock.

  3. Usage for everyone on the project

Architects, designers and builders often share a shoot. The proposal sets out who can use which images and where, from portfolios and awards to press and print.

Questions from architecture and interiors

Can the builder and the designer use the same photos?

Yes. We license the images to each company that needs them, and the proposal lists who can use them and where. Sharing a shoot is often the most practical way to cover a project.

Do you photograph homes that are lived in?

Yes. We work with the owners on timing and styling, and photograph each room once it is ready. Personal items can stay out of frame or be moved for the shoot.

Do you work outside San Diego County?

Most of our work is in San Diego County and Orange County. We take on projects further away by arrangement.

How long does delivery take?

It depends on the number of images and the editing involved. We set the delivery date in the proposal.
