Niguel Shores, Monarch Bay and The Strand at Headlands are gated neighborhoods of ocean-view homes along the coast. Beach Road in Capistrano Beach is a private row of homes directly on the sand. For these, the ocean is the main subject: we photograph the view from the main rooms and terraces, and drone photos show the home on the bluff or the beach with the harbor or the headlands in the frame.
Inland from the harbor, the Lantern District has older homes, townhomes and new builds close to the shops and restaurants on Del Prado and the coast highway. Capistrano Beach and the hills above Doheny have family homes on hillside streets, many with partial ocean views. Monarch Beach has homes near the golf course and the resorts.

Gates along the coast
Niguel Shores, Monarch Bay, The Strand and Beach Road each control access at a gate. Arrange guest access for us before the shoot, and ask the association whether a drone flight needs approval, since the shoreline view is often the reason to fly.
The harbor from the air
Many Dana Point homes are sold partly on their view of the harbor, the headlands or Doheny. Drone photos and short aerial clips show that view from the home’s position, which buyers can’t judge from a photo taken on the ground. We launch from the property, since drones aren’t allowed in city parks, over the Headlands preserve or at Doheny State Beach.

Homes on the bluffs face the open ocean, and twilight shows the harbor lights and the last color in the sky. Daylight exteriors come first, late in the afternoon, so the same visit covers both.

Can you photograph a home on Beach Road from the sand?
Yes. We photograph the beach side of the home from the sand, along with the deck and the view, and the drone shows the home in the row of houses along the shore. We try to time it for a quiet stretch of beach.
What do you cover for a condo or townhome in the Lantern District?
The rooms, the balcony or patio and any view. A drone photo can also show the walk to the harbor, Lantern Bay Park and the shops on Del Prado.
