Real estate photography in Laguna Beach

Orange County

Laguna Beach is a coastal town of coves, canyons and steep hillsides, with Main Beach and downtown where Laguna Canyon meets the ocean. Homes are built into the hills above the coast highway, along ridges such as Top of the World, and in gated communities on the water from Irvine Cove to Three Arch Bay. Emerald Bay, next to Irvine Cove, uses a Laguna Beach address but sits outside the city limits.

Homes in Laguna Beach

Many Laguna homes sit on small, steep lots, with several levels, decks and outdoor rooms built to face the water. Some are cottages on the streets near the beaches; others are contemporary homes on the hillsides of North Laguna, Arch Beach Heights and Bluebird Canyon. The ocean view and the indoor and outdoor living carry most listings, so we photograph each level toward the view and use drone photos to show how the home sits on the hill above the coves.

Emerald Bay, Irvine Cove and Three Arch Bay are gated communities with their own beaches, and their homes range from older beach houses to large rebuilds. Near Victoria Beach and Woods Cove, homes sit on the cliffs right above the sand. For those, photos of the beach access, the stairs down and the view from the water’s edge help buyers understand what they would own.

Planning a shoot in Laguna Beach

  1. Steep streets and tight parking

Many Laguna streets are narrow and steep with little room to park, and summer traffic on the coast highway and Laguna Canyon Road slows everything down. Tell us where we can park and whether the home has a street-level entry, so we allow time to carry gear in.

  2. Emerald Bay, Irvine Cove and Three Arch Bay

These communities have guarded entrances and their own rules for visitors. Arrange our access ahead of time, and ask whether we can photograph the community beach and clubhouse and whether the drone needs approval.

  3. Coves at sunset

Laguna looks west over the Pacific, and on clear evenings Catalina Island sits on the horizon. In early summer we schedule daytime exteriors for the afternoon, after the morning cloud lifts, and twilight balances the home’s lights against the sunset over the water.

Questions about shoots in Laguna Beach

Which booking option do I use for a Laguna Beach home?

Select the Orange County option. Laguna Beach listings fall under Orange County pricing, set separately from San Diego County, and the booking portal works out the price for the home’s size.

How do you photograph a home built on several levels?

We walk the home with you first to set the order, then photograph each level along with its deck or terrace. A floor plan helps buyers follow how the levels connect, and a video walk-through shows it even more clearly.

Can the drone show the cove below the home?

Yes, where the city’s drone rules and any community rules allow. Laguna Beach’s code requires a city permit for commercial drone photos and video, so we confirm it before the shoot. Aerial photos and video taken just off the bluff show the home, the cove and the coastline together, which is often the clearest way to explain a Laguna setting.
